Heading home to Orkney

August 1976 - My mum and dad Mabel née Grieve and David Gillespie heading home to Orkney after a fortnight in Thurso. Maybe someone can name the man at the top of the gangway. What a bonnie summer it was that year.

Lowrie Irvine Chief Steward lives in Deerness but originally from Shetland.

However it must have been Summer 1974 or before because that ship was replaced by the first roll on roll off "St Ola" at the end of January 1975.
