Went down the pier on my bike today and saw the start of the work on the extension. This obviously entails cutting away part of the existing pier, and these bits are currently sittiing on top of the pier. The mussels have made themselves at home, and on other bits there are the remains of hundreds of straggly starfish.

What a waste! A lot of meals there for mussel lovers.
