Came out of the house on 25th September and was quite taken with this array of clouds above Towerhill, St. Ola. I'm sure any budding cloud experts would have a name for them.

Are they low-level lenticular clouds? I'm no cloud expert, but surely it's unusual to have one bang on top of another, as appears to be the case here? Maybe it's just one, with a groove scoured in the edge by wind? Great picture in any case. I'll try uploading a freebie from Wikipedia for comparison purposes.

I'm surprised that in the 5 years 5 months this photo has been on OIL no meteorologist or nephologist has come along with a definitive name and explanation. My guess above is surely not to be taken as the last word on the subject.
