This was taken in the flow. I think that she was used to do sail charter trips around the north of Scotland. For many years before she was converted to sail she had been a motor fishing boat around the north isles. I remember doing some work on her at Scarths for Alex Costie.

The Enterprise also ended up in Irvine, where she sank as did the HOY HEAD the year before. They were both refloated again and the ENTERPRISE was towed to TROON, she like the HOY HEAD is in very, very poor shape, I will go to TROON and update any news on her. I remember her at the clams, along with the Kildingie, and another Orkney boat cant mind the name it was johnny davidson's boat, they were working out of Tobermory, late 1960s. I was skipper of the old
Shapinsay working on the west coast then. Jimmy Hamilton

Sorry folks the Enterprise is gone from TROON, they only keep tupperware boats there now. If I find her again will get a pic.

Ohno, the fate of dear old Enterprise... My father and his uncle restored/converted her to this state. I recall digging some of the 40 year old grit out from the bottom with my bare hands.

Real shame to read she is most likely gone. Taking a cargo ship cruise from Scapa around the islands really got my father several free beers in the pub when calling on various ports. Apparently many people knew her from her fishing days and were delighted that she was being restored.

If any news of her fate is discovered please let me know.
