Hello Heather, I am delighted to find the photos on this website and I, too, am researching the Orkney Scarths. We are descendants of Robert Scarth 1 and his second wife, Agnes Cathie. I would be so pleased to share what information I have. Please contact me at the address below.

I have just returned from the Highland Games in Vista, San Diego California and was trying to research my family. My mother was a Scarth Stevenson from Ontario, Canada. She told me her family was from the Orkneys...way back when. The family crest was a fist holding a wreath. The folks at the Highland games said that the Scarth was not a clan but an area and that the tartan would be Caithness. Any information would be appreciated. My Mum also told me that because the clan was so old that they would wear the Stuart tartan.

Hi Helen, I visited your Aunt Marna on two occasions at Old Fincastle as well as your cousin, Andrew and his family. By my records, you and I would be 3rd cousins, the same relationship I have with Heather. I am the great-granddaughter of Jane-Jessie Scarth who was your great- grandmother Madge's half-sister. Heather will have far more information but I would be happy to share what I have as well and I would like to connect with you.
