German Fleet in Scapa Flow

A Tom Kent postcard of the German fleet in Scapa Flow, Nov 1918
Picture added on 02 April 2007
Comments:
I am aware the Germans ships had a skeleton crew on board, were they ever allowed onto Orkney soil?
Also, the line of boats in the right of the photograph, are they to stop access to the Flow? Did they hold submarine nets? Were they to stop the boats from leaving?!
When the ships were scuttled, where were the Germans held?
Very interesting to see photographs like this!
