Isabella`s parents were in fact John Maxwell and Isabella Brock,(Stronsay) who were my great, great grandparents. She died at the ripe old age of 86 in Edinburgh.

I believe Isabella was born on 31st January, 1841 in Stronsay, and had six siblings.

Stronsay
where their son (also Edward), occupation Brassfinisher, was born and resided. Research is ongoing - but given Violet`s middle name, I have a hunch that Isabella`s maiden name was Maxwell will get back to you.
