Comments:
The houses at the Franklin Road end were inhabited when I visited my grandmother in Stromness in the 1950s. One of them was used by the Trout Fishing Association as a hatchery, I think, before they were demolished to provide sites for houses - which spoiled the wonderful view across the harbour to the Flow and Graemsay from Victoria House!!

Most of the street was owned by Peter Leith who sold it in the late 50's for not a lot.
