Scapa Pier

Scapa Pier, Photo taken by T.Kent,15-11-20,Men surveying the Storm damage. All these lumps of stone wall were taken up to "Cannigal Farm",St. Ola,when the Farm belonged to John Tait, before Harry Russell bought the Farm. His youngest three of the family, namely Margaret,Annette and Thomas played hide and seek among these stones when they were small, a few years later the lumps of stone were used as foundations for an extention at the back of the house. Makes you wonder how they handled such lumps of stone in the 1920s'. Any ideas how this would have been done? Were there any tractors on the go then?. Added by Phil Brough.
