Two messages:

1) The calendars are here, and available to buy.
2) It is proposed to have an informal social night for picture library users and contributors next Tuesday 17th August- come along!

The calendars are currently available from the following quality outlets: Wm Shearer, Bruces Stores, Papdale Stores, Lows, WR Tullock, Nimms, Rendall Furnishings, VAO, The Mart and the Centre for Nordic Studies. They cost £6 each, and are printed on heavyweight semi-glossy paper in full colour, opening to A3 (297x420mm) for each month. Each month has space for notes, moon phases, school holiday info, and comments or stories from the Image Library as well as a picture (or pictures). Frankly, it's a bargain, and its all for charity. Charities benefitting are CLAN, Macmillan and CLIC Sargent.

The social evening will be at the Sailing Club from 8pm, and is just that- a chance to yarn with others interested in the Image Library and to put faces to names. If you are interested in attending send me an email so we know numbers.

Comments:
And the calendars come with an envelope for posting. They will ultimately be available by mail order from this site too.

Good work for three good causes Steven. Well done!

[Need to sell them yet Max! It all depends on the generosity of those who contributed their pictures so willingly as well, so thank you! Cheers, Steven]

I bought a couple of calendars today at the Dounby Show and they are great. I normally send a few Orkney calendars at Christmas/New Year and this will definitely be my choice this year. (Sorry for using the "Christmas" word but, only 134 days to go!!!!!!!!)
Seriously folks, buy the calendar.

[Thanks Ann- I nearly gret with gratitude when I read this post! - Steven]

Any chance of an outlet in the West Mainland?

[Working on it Iain, sorry we haven't sorted something out yet- Steven]

I believe that they are now available in Stromness at The Quernstone, Stromnness Golf Club and also the Pier Arts Centre.

In the East Mainland they can be bought from the Holm, Deerness and Toab shops.

Are these Calendars available to be purchased online?? And shipped to Canada?

[Funny you should mention that... I'm in the process of working out the P&P for this, but so far airmail to places outside Europe is looking like £6 for one calendar, £10 for two, £12.50 for 3, and a further £2.50 for each additional calendar- which seems dear, sorry. If you can suggest cheaper ways of sending, that would be great.

For Europe (outside the UK) P&P is about £3.30 for one, £5.30 for two, £7 for three, £8.50 for four and a further £1.50 for each additional one.

In the UK, P&P looks like being £1.30 for one and a further 70p for each additional one.

I'll be setting up a Paypal store for them which will be accessible from here.

I'll keep you posted (hoho) - Steven]
