Tommy writes:
'Im a man from Denmark who was travelling on foot/bike throughout Scotland, from Barra Island, The Uists, Skye, Wester Ross, Caithness and Orkney. It was from the 6th of June to the 12th of July in 2002.
In my whole week in Orkney, I travelled to Hoy, Lyness (the War Museum), Lamb Holm, Houton, Waulkmill Bay, Hobbister, Orphir, Westray (Pierowall, Noltland Castle, Noup Head, Stanger Head, Bay Of Tuquay), and of course round Kirkwall, Scapa.
But one of the best places I managed to visit was the little island Eynhallow.
I got a fantastic help by Kathleen Carse at the Tourist Office. She was at that time employed there. A few days before I schould leave Orkney for my home in Denmark, I saw a poster in the Tourist Office, where there was a ferry-trip to the island Eynhallow. Its only happens one time a year.
Together with the BBC Television we walked round the island that evening in a splendid weather. A lovely evening in Orkney nature, with so many friendly people around. Fantastic! I will never forget that.
I became totally lost in Scotland, I love the nation and the people there and of course the people of Orkney.
Since my tour in Scotland I have written a book, painted 26 pictures (Im also an artist), done some talk-shows with photos on slides, and a lot more.
Therefore I thought that some of my pictures, from Westray and Eynhallow might have some interest for the Orkney Community.'
