Don't know what or where this is - maybe Scapa. Is the photo the wrong way around? Is that why the boat is going backwards - oops - astern?

Comments:
m.v. 'Noup Head' reversing out from the Papay Pier circa 1975. She would have been owned by William Seatter the coal merchant in Westray at that time. He also owned Vestness Farm on Papay - probably the reason for the trip to Papay.

Bit like the old black and white war film "The Crual Sea" where the seagulls fly backwards.

I am pleased to confirm that Rob is correct. This is Papa Westray. I had forgotten about the occasion (don't ask). It was taken from the MV Orcadia
en route to or from the Westray regatta on 24th July, 1982. Can't say fairer than that!

Does anybody have a picture of Alfie Nicholsons Orana.
Added by W Watters on 24 April 2012
There is a photo of the Orana in the heritage centre Shapinsay- a copy in Howard Hazell's book.
The boys are sure to have many too
