I felt privileged to have been given the opportunity to submit some of the late Dr Dave Pottinger's photos, many of which are now historical treasures. Without spelling it out, Gordie Peterson's comment regarding this one tells it's own story!.

I think it is more likely that the offending article is probably part of a sack. The metal seats were cold and hard to sit on and many people created cushions from sacks stuffed with straw or wool.
