Kirkwall Basin August 2007

Having just seen picture #4717 showing the basin area of Kirkwall around 1954, I thought I would load this one I took last month.
A few changes, some only cosmetic. The Kirkwall Hotel extension has been built, and some painting on the front of the ST OLA hotel, the old harbour office and Focus on Orkney, which was a cafe, certainly in the 1960's. What the building was in 1954 I dont know, but I'm sure some of our learned contributors can help with that one. A few extra boats now being moored compared to 50 + years ago.
