Walliwall Quarry

The old dissused Kirkwall Town Council quarry at Walliwall. I think that you can just see the water level in the picture. I wonder how long it will be before it is completely full of water.

Comments:
I noticed as I drove down the road the other day that there are rows of buoys in the water. Anybody know what they're for?

Probably to do with the kayak training that takes place there.

The council outdoor persuits people now teach kayaking there to youngsters. Some of the quarry walls have quite loose stones so the buoys and ropes are there to keep the kayakers away from these'danger'areas.
