The people in this picture are older than me, but I do remember them well. The missimg name, I think, is Catherine Sinclair. She was not full time in Stronsay but stayed for lengthy periods at St Catherine's and attended school while there.
A check on the names - yes, Back Row third is Douglas Cooper. Why the question mark?
The spelling of the Wilson boys should be Erlend and Eoin.
2nd Row, extreme right is Megan Fotheringhame.
Sorry! Ever the teacher..!!!!
And, Alison, when I taught you, you were so like your mother in this photo!

Hello, I don't know anyone in this photo, but my grandfather was from Stronsay, he emigrated to Canada in the mid 1920's. George Williamson was his name, he married Marianne, or Maryanne Steedman from Edinburgh. Wondering if there is any connection between Daveen and my grandfather...

Hi, I'm finally visiting the island in November as my grandfather was born there in 1885 -- Peter Robert Fotheringham(e). His parents were Thomas Fotheringhame and Mary Ann Harcus. Anyone got any ideas on them? any help most welcome. Graeme

The Teacher here is my Great Grandfather John Drever. I believe he was quite the disciplinarian. On 3 occasions during his time at the Junior School he sent for a gentleman to come from Glasgow to lecture the kids on Temperance! His school log book is in the archive in Kirkwall. It is fairly dry other than the occasional frustrated entry during harvest time to complain that some families were missing from class and that he had called the parents for meetings to discuss. His own children were Mary, John, Muriel, Anne (My Gran) and George. George would have been at school in 1948 but is missing from this pic.

Laura, this is a picture of Mr Drever's room only. George would have been in Miss Gorie's room.
