Sailing Snoopy

Alan sends in this picture taken by his father in law, Andy Wylie. The date is an estimate.

The boat pictured is Snoopy, which should imply that it is Ian Eunson at the helm and Jack Rendall crewing, following extensive research (I asked Harcus Hutchison).

Note the white tower in front of the house at the Ayre Mills, which was one of a pair of leading lights (the other was on Glaitness Road) that should be aligned when navigating in Kirkwall Bay. They disappeared about the time the pier was extended with its big dogleg.
