Y999 VBS

The last ever proper BS number plate - Well done to W.R.Tullock for chasing the DVLA for this plate, which would have probably have never seen the light of day. Long may you transfer it Sir's! Picture take with camera phone August 8 2012 in Kirkwall.

Comments:
Technicaly, V999 YBS could have been the last proper BS plate, but I think this is based on the fact that 2001's BS Y plates only made it to "V"

Y was the age indicator and V was the last prefix to the original BS Orkney identity registration number,VBS was the last identity used prior to the introduction of the Inverness SY51*** area and age identity in Sept 2001. "Technically" V999YBS could not have been the last as V***YBS was never issued, V as the age indicator was linked with J as the prefix to the BS area identity.

Had enough cars, lorries, motorbikes & tractors been sold before the introduction of the hateful SY62 XXX system, V999 YBS "could" have been issued, which is the point I'm trying to make.
