I remember Ivan Wishart and Billy Merriman when they were in their teens.

Thanks for the info. about Billy Merriman. The reason I asked was that my dad was China's Best Man at his wedding to Iris Marwick.
I see we share the same surname. I'm in the process of researching my family tree and have quite a lot of Orkney Adamson information.
This might be a long shot but would you happen to be Anthony Edward Adamson, grandson of Peter Gilray Adamson, great-grandson of John Adamson?
If so your great-grandfather John Adamson is the elder brother of my grandfather George Moar Borwick Adamson. My dad and your grandfather Peter Gilray Adamson were cousins. This makes us 2nd cousins 1x removed.
