I'll leave it to someone else to name those on board.

I think I recognise three of the crew. Standing aft of hatch Alan Smith, leaning over the bulwark I think its my uncle Davie Learmonth and beside Davie is John Groat. I have fond memories of the Hoy Head going to Swartland for my summer holidays. Them were the days! I remember one trip when my younger brother 3 or 4 years old at the time went missing, it was panic stations for a few minuts until we found him down below in the crews mess. His uncle Davie or Billy had taken him below for a biscuit and juice.

I would say one of them sitting on the hatch with his face half hidden by the ropes is Geordie Taylor. It was probably some sort of special trip as the hatch is battened down with what looks like car lifting nets on it.Down the side deck is a couple of boxes and what looks like an acordian case standing there. Could it have been a wedding in Flotta perhaps?? The anonymous comment is from a Pottinger boy. Possibly Stewart and refering to Brian but I could be wrong

I wonder if that is Willie Delday standing, wearing the suit? That would explain the accordion.

If you add aboot 6 stone, pit a pair o glesses on his face and lose most o the hair, the other one on the hatch looks like a young Ian Robertson

I think the anonomous comment is from Moria, about her wee brother Ian Macleod, their grandad was old Tam Learmont of Swartland in North Walls!
