Royal visitors, Stromness 1960

Royal visitors, Stromness 1960. This pic ties in with picture #23570 and others. I think it's by Willie Hourston.
In addition to the Royals, we see, left to right, Provost Rosetta Groundwater, 'The Orcadian' editor Gerry Meyer getting it all down like the true pro he is, bewigged Town Clerk J E P Robertson, an unnamed Brownie (though she'll know who she is and will never forget the occasion), lawyer Jackie Robertson (J E P's son) and, I think, Ian Argo (who has found something more interesting to photograph).

Comments:
I think the unnamed Brownie is Margaret Berston.

Someone told me Prince Philip offended the Town Clerk by asking him if his wig was drip-dry.

Hard to see how that could cause offence.
