We the patients of Dr. W. T. Black do hereby express our grateful appreciation of his devoted service to us during the 37 years he has been in practice at Dounby.

Dr. Black came to Orkney on holiday to celebrate his engagement to Betty Potter who was established in the nursing profession here.That's also when he fell in love with the W. Mainland.
I should know more but can't remember!!!

They were my grandparents. Betty was from Edinburgh.
