Hugh Miller, son of Cromarty, was know to have collect geological samples from the coast here. There are examples in the Stromness Museum. The Hugh Miller website can be seen at www.hughmiller.org

40 years ago this wis the hoymansquoy gang. Dis a mackay remember the hollowed oot stone whar wi used tae keep crabs. (aboot central in photo).
