I agree Kathy. Life was hard for most people I believe, but, honesty and courtesy were always top priority however poor one was. Something so rare these days. I know from my childhood in the 30's in Lincolnshire/Cambridgeshire.

There is a fascination for sea water when we were kids, it always attracted us like magnets. Mounthoolie Lane is where two people are standing, directly across the road is Burnmouth Road. I lived at 4 Ayre Houses near the Peedie Sea when I was a boy, on a strong northerly wind and high tide we were subject to flooding.The only thing that kept the sea water out was a weatherboard about eighteen inches deep,a tight fit onto the doorstep.
