Hi Ernie

My Great Grandparents as well- John Alfred Mason Groat and Jemima Groat(nee Rendall). As far as I know, the family names, and approximate ages in 1900, would have been:-

Back l/r - Thomas(17) - Jemima(21) - Elizabeth(24) - Helen(19)

2nd Georgina(13) Williamina(15)

3rd Annie(7)- John Groat(45)- Jemima Groat(42) - Maggie(8)

4th John jnr(5) George g/son(5)

Front (sitting) Jessie(11)(My Grandmother)

I can expand a little further on the info if you wish to get in touch.

Following a bit of further research, I can now date this photo to not later than 1899, the year of Jemima Groat's death, at the age of 41. John junior having been born in 1895, his appearance in this picture would indicate that it must have been taken quite near to his mother's death. John senior never re-married.
