It only has a peashooter on the foredeck.

That peashooter can fire 25 x 4.5" rounds a minute, Jimmy, and is just one of an array of weapons carried by Dauntless.

Some peashooter. It is a 4.5 inch gun and can fire 25 shells per minute out to a range of 12 nm
[That's nautical miles he means, and not nanometres as anybody raised on the SI system of units might reasonably assume. It's about 14 and half miles, I think - Steven]

SI units began to take over about the same time as the concept of 'units' began to be applied to alcohol. The nanny state was soon nagging us about maximum 'safe' numbers of alcohol units, and some of us feared SI units would follow suit. (At that time, SI was the long-accepted abbreviation for sexual intercourse.) If the government was going to recommend different numbers of SI units for men and for women, as they did with alcohol, one felt an interesting situation could develop.

Ok boys, I still say its a very expensive peashooter, and nobody can deny that..

We've already denied your description 'peashooter' Jimmy. As for 'very expensive' it depends what you're comparing it with. Yes, it's very expensive compared with my car, or even my house, but you can't defend Britain with my house (thank goodness).

OK, you win, I was always rubbish at politics......but that's not the reason for the state of our country.
