Sorry, this was my first add (missed the contributor info)..the picture is from my collection of old Johnston family Photos

Its probably my grandfather James with his dad, Donald. James looks to be in his early teens.

Richard if this is your G G Grandfather I think he was known as Danny Johnston and he would have been the tenant of The Burnhouse, before our grandfather came here in 1924 Danny died on his way to Aberdeen to have an operation for what was known then as bowel knot (appendicitis).

As to who the son is I dont know who he would be as I believe there were eight in all.The ones I can think of are.
Danny-Magnus-Bobby-Sammy-Hughie- were there more I am sure that I have heard it was eight in all?.

Donald and Ann Johnston of the Longhope area. Lived at Burnhouse.
