Good tae see that this old Lifeboat has been given a good refurbishment as she looked in rather a sad state in previous photographs.

We know in Longhope how much work it takes to maintain an old boat like this- our vintage Lifeboat Thomas McCunn is in constant need of care and repair, and is well worth a visit to see how our Lifeboats used to be compared to the state of the art models seen around our coast today.

Sorry John, I live near Irvine and watched the so called refurbishment, it is totally cosmetic, and looks fine in a photo, she is in very poor shape underneath the slight coat o paint that they gave her.. the museum here is scraping the barrel for funds and have a lot of old stuff that is going to ruin because of it... at the time of the 40th anniversary she was in a rough state paintwise and I made it known to them that little respect was being shown at that time, considering the sadness of her history..
