No ordinary Fordson for is John. I think this wan came home in 1949. A few years later i can mind a young Ernie Wishart coming oot and put a powerdrive shaft in her. We got a powerdrive binder then which was a great improvement on the old one but a wee bit tricky to work as you only wad the one clutch and when you lifted your foot powerdrive and tractor both took off together

Yir right Jimmy hid wiz a International B.250. The owld man ordered her fae Harrold Tait and shae didna arrive so faither gits ontae the phone tae Harrold tae see whit hid happened. Harrold says I thought yae were talking a load o s**t!!, As if me owld man wid ivver!! Anyway oot shae came gleaman, shae wiz on 10inch tyres wae no power drive, both were extras at that time, 1956!!.
I think Ernie Wishart came oot tae fit bigger tyres and the power drive, anyway I think the price wiz £500, a hell o a lot o money then, and that wiz why faither wiz at the jobs you spoke about Jimmy, tae pay for the new tractor.
The youth of today, min they hivna got a clue, there was no such thing as HP or leasing then, hid wiz cash up front or nothing!!.
