Me & Wilkie

Came across this photo the other night of a great athlete and another guy called David Wilkie!!

I don't remember why he came to Orkney but I remember we ran a relay from Stromness to Kirkwall (or maybe it was the other way) for some reason when he was here. It may have been something to do with the Commonwealth Games.

I certainly look like I'm pleased to meet him!!

Thanks Shona. I agree with you. Still happy and cheery now as I was back then!!

Bruce, you guys ran fae Kirkwall to Stromness. And left us not enough time to run back to Kirkwall airport with fake Olympic torch. However when we reached airport, one runner was supposed to take torch to Aberdeen, but no one had booked seat so torch had to go alone.

I remember doing sponsored run for this also, so it must have been raising cash for some charity.
