The village at the crossroads

A Dougie Cooper picture, from 1967. This is heading north into Dounby, and the scene will only have changed recently, with the building of a big wall (and care home) in the corner of the field on the left.

I remember there was a quarry on the other side of the field, and frisbeeing old 78s across it when we were clearing out my grannies house. The old gramophone went in too, and it still worked! It wasn't my idea, I was only about nine... Things were different in those days, and old stuff was generally 'no fit fur the mart'. [writes Steven]

Comments:
I am having a house built in Dounby, and I am pleased how little it has changed from the time of this picture to present day.
