found this in a box of old pictures and have asked several older folk who this group are but no body has any ideas. It might not be in Stronsay

I was amazed to get all the names for this one after an year on Orkney Images. Thanks to Hilary Mason for telling me that it is the Egilsay school, her mother Nell Groat is on the left in the back row. Thanks too to Jean Robertson who has named them all . Back row L to R Nell Groat,

Very interesting photo. Thomas, George and Ellen are first cousins and they married siblings. Ellen would be about 5, George about 6 and Thomas about 7 when this was taken if 1920. Would this have been the whole Egilsay school at the time?
