Dishan Tower, Shapinsay

Taken on the 7th July 2005, as I was on Shapinsay that day too, and heard all about the London Tube bombings from a passing tourist at the broch.

This is the Dishan Tower or Douche, apparently built in the 1600s as a doocot, and converted to a salt water shower about the time of the completion of Balfour Castle in 1848.
