Where is that? Whanclett or Brunthouse?

Adrian, the kiln is at the Whome (other side of the road from Brunthouse).

Thanks Phyllis, I've a bad sense of direction!.It's strange how sometimes you never notice things you've seen every day for years. I just discovered this great website and it's good to see some photos of home. Thanks for showing James Hay's descendent Old Schoolhouse when they visited. From the photo they posted on the web I couldn't see clearly who the 'wonderful host' was, but I worked it out. Take care, Adrian

This was the home of William & Mary Barnett, my great grand parents, prior to William & Mary it was the home of Henry & Lizzy Jean Sutherland, my great aunt & uncle who renovated the old Whome croft sometime in the 1920's (?). Have no information on the Whome prior to this. I gained this info from my Grand parents Donnie & Betty Sutherland ( nee Barnett ), daughter of William & Mary.

Would Henry and Lizzy Jean Sutherland been any relations of Herbert and Sydney Sutherland - they were my grandfather and great uncle respectively.

Hello
This is the home in Flotta where I live now. My great granny and grandad lived here, then it got passed down to my grandad and granny from Brunthouse. They are called Mary and William Robertson. Now my Mother and Father own the home and are called Martin and Linda Robertson. I also stay there now on the weekends because I stay at the hostel throught the week.
