The Back Road sign, of which Paul and Marion speak in their comments to picture #1237. The successive pictures move back to show the lane which used to lead to the back of Costies, and where it is in relation to the Catholic Church. The Uppie goal in the Ba is shown at the extreme right in the last picture.

According to this map [OS Map 1880], there was a "Back Street" which is now Buttquoy Place. Perhaps they're the same, and the stone was moved/re-used for this wall at some point.
