Some kind of mushroomy-toadstooly thing growing out of a tree on Willow Road. Probably a willow tree...

Looks like you'll have to change that to 'Sycamore Road' as it's a Sycamore tree. That looks like bracket fungus to me. Not a good sign for the logevity of the tree. They're tough things, though, so it may survive for another 20 years if you're lucky.

If this fungus has a felty uper surface, it could be an inonotus hispidus. It usually grows at the end of summer though! It could turn black and fall off. Is it hard or soft?
