North End of Stromness before todays changes. Garson as farmland, Stromness Mart, no reclamation for lorry park and Cairston just a ribbon strip. Date approx.

This must be post 1973 because Ferry Road is complete prior to that the East wall of the Mart backed on to the harbour.

Even a bit later than that Wullie because I finished in Stromness in March 1974 and The Ferry road was'nt complete or at least in use for cars like shown on the picture.

Does anyone remember the old steel hull that was under the shore below the slaughter house and can anyone tell me what it once was ?
