A poor picture of the American Liberty ship " Art Young" ashore on Swilkie Point Stroma August 1947. The Swilkie whirlpool swung her around and she grounded stern first.
Refloated the next day with the assistance of three tugs.
The Stroma fog horn can be seen at the stern of the ship.
