They must have been keen to get the rolls out that winter, snow chains on the tyres.

Showing my age now, but I remember "the van" when the guys used to deliver piping hot rolls early in the morning to my Grandparents when they lived at 22 Thoms Street. A hot Groundwaters roll with butter and jam was a real delicacy to be savoured.
