You usually hear about the three bigger yachts sailing in Kirkwall in the late 1940's and early 1950's but they were actually four. John Laughton's 'Barabel', David Cooper's 'Soli', George Arthur's 'Naughty Girl' and John Foulis's 'Skeldro' here crewed by John Foulis at the helm, John Findlay on the jib sheets and Edwin Rendall on the lee side.

Thats a rare picture of the"Skeldro", Edwin. Been about a year before I started sailing on the "Barabel".
