Alan sends in this picture which shows the unusual influx of waxwings we are having just now. Alan writes:
'These are waxwings snapped today Sunday [24th October 2004] in the front garden of our house. Coming from the coniferous woods of Lapland and eastward, they eat rowan berries and in this case the berries of a cotoneaster below.I have inset a picture which shows the bird in more detail.'
