North Isles Boats

The MV Clytus. This boat (the one nearest the camera) did the Shapinsay passenger run for OISC. She was later owned by Currie Bros.
Picture added on 11 August 2007
Comments:
Originally built in 1944 as the Clyde Pilot cutter "Gantock" based at Gourock bought by OISC when they took over Shapinsay service from Dennisons. Mainly crewed by "Peem" Sinclair and "Bunny" Bruce with Willie Leitch after "Bunny" retired. 6cyl Gardner engine 114bhp - some difference in fuel consumption from Shapinsay & Thorsvoe!! After many years further service as diving tender with Currie Brothers broken up 2010.

Between Bunny Bruce and Wullie Leitch was Mucker Drever (Tom)

Good job you're keeping my ageing memory right Neil, you are correct. WM

I think Currie Bros owned MV Clytus when this photo was taken, although she still has the OISC logo on the funnel. See picture #25441.
