The John Rae Society had an open day at the Hall of Clestrain on Sunday 23rd July 2017. They hope to raise £200,000 fairly quickly to secure the purchase of the building and make it wind and watertight, then over a longer period raise up to £5M to restore the building and create a museum and visitor attraction.
The basement has lattely been used as a pig sty. The stair we went up is in the far left of this picture, the southeast corner.
