Hay of Flotta. (A photograph from Rosario, Argentina).
I cannot confirm it but I believe the gentleman on the left is John S Hay, husband of Catherine Barnet, who resided in Rosario, Argentina in late 1800's. I believe they stayed a short while in 'The Cottage' Flotta whilst building 'Bayview' next to the Flotta Kirk, where they spent their latter years. The fellow in the middle may be Peter (Pierre) Barnett?

Three of John S Hay's sons, Arthur, Charles and Leighton, graduated from the University of Aberdeen, two as doctors. See 1901-1925 graduates list - www.abdn.ac.uk/library/about/special/collections/rolls-of-graduates/

It is thought Samuel stayed in Argentina and married a woman by the name of Geuoveva. Pierre, like John, returned to Flotta, but in 1903 he left Britain aboard the Etruria, bound for Chicago.
The above photograph, and the information, is in a book called ''An Introduction to Arthur C. Hay, written by Sheena M. Hewitt, who is a decendant of the Hay family. I met Mrs Hewitt at the Kirbuster Museum when I worked there, her interest lying in the fact that the Hays of Kirbuster were decended from the Hays of Orphir, the same family that Arthur C. Hay was decended from. She very kindly provided me with a copy of her book, which contains valuable history of the family, and of the Flotta history and families.
I will no longer loan the book out, but anyone interested may come and view it at any time, and study it's contents.
