Lovely to see my grandad and granny's house still standing! John and Jessie Tait,55 Alfred Street (behind the white van). It had a great garden to explore as a child and I always thought the White House was so posh as it looked down on us!

As a child I remember that view from my granny and grandad's house. Especially from the upstairs windows. The steep path to the front door, grandad's 3 smelly sheep, one called Bridget.
Granny and grandad Banks bought the White House around 1960, and I used to play in the original Whyte Hoose where the sheep were kept.
