Old Tom Kent PC c 1912 (?)
Could someone tell me where this is please? There are two churches on the left, next to each other more or less, and what looks like a quarry in the foreground.
The car registration is BS 9, can be clearly made out on the original. It has Kent's Orcadian Series stamped on the back.
[Looks like Finstown to me, Maitland Place in the foreground, and the nearest kirk in the kirkyard has since been demolished - Steven]

I would say you are right, looks like Finstown from the Kirkwall side.

The car is proceeding down the Old Finstown Road and the houses are the originals in Maitland Place. The quarry (now filled in) used to be on the Kirkwall side of the Finstown Hall.

Think it must be after 1917. The second house from the right has a stone carved with '1917', but it might signify something other than the year it was built right enough.
