BS1

I was chatting on Facebook about BS number plates, when Alan Hayes provided me with this picture of "Bret Sinclair" With his Aston Martin as seen in the cult TV show "The Persuaders" the man on Roger Moore's shoulder is Billy Smart, the long time previous owner of BS 1. This is a publicity shot, take around 1971 - incidently, the Aston's real registration number is PPP 6H.

As I have stated on a previous photograph the above Billy Smart came up to Hoy to speak to the former owner of BS1 Mr Jackie Groat.
I at the time ran a taxi and picked Billy and his partner from Ginger Browns Ferry and took them to meet Jackie who still had various items from BS 1 an open top Crossly Saloon car.
Unfortunately he was unable to get Jackie to part with any of the bits and pieces and I guess they are still around JMF Groat & Sons here in Longhope.
