The Hoy Manse

With reference to picture #12157, the Hoy Manse, this Tom Kent photo will, I believe, be of the same building taken from up the brae. The small building was the Hoy Post Office operated about that time by my Gt. Grandfather, Robert Mackenzie. For interest I add a receipt of his annual subscription to the Shipwrecked Fishermen and Mariners' Benevolent Society.

Comments:
If this T.K. picture is enlarged enough, one can see the sign POST OFFICE high up almost on the "chimney breest" on the gable end of the small building.

I am researching the Hoy Post Office as part of a school project, as Mr Isaac Moar is my great grandfather. I have a photo of your gt. grandfather with his ox and cart outside the Hoy Manse. Maybe I could E-mail you the photo and you could tell me about your gt. grandfather
