Looking across St Ola II towards Stromness Hotel, ca 1960. A slide from my first camera - a fairly primitive Kodak Bantam Colorsnap. Needed a bit of tweaking. Love the glistening black nissen hut.

Thanks for providing info Cap'n Willie. Quite a feat identifying the winchman from just his hands! (OK, we both know who it would be.) Tried lifting the shadow off Joggie's face but his face came with it.

Lovely photo but I'm confused! I thought my grandad Jock Tait was the winchman around this time. Must have been his day off! Mind you he could pass for the guy in grey telling the others how to do it!!?
