I remember this day very well! It was the Lyness show day 1980 I won the dog show that year with my mother's Blue marl Lassie Collie bitch Janjan! Two years later I won the same dog show with my own German Pointer bitch Liesel, this was a double celebration as it was my birthday the same day and we had a party in Maurice Groats Anchor Bar. Stanley Thompson was the barman and it was his birthday the same day as mine. Leisel went on and won the dog show at the county Show in Kirkwall the following week !
